Harper M. Stantz Rec Park Music Festival 2023 is Coming July 9th

Binghamton’s jam band music scene will be out in full force this summer at the Harper M. Stantz Rec Park Music Festival, happening July 9th 2023 at Binghamton’s Recreation Park. The full day of music features an impressive list of some of the area’s best homegrown live acts. And best of all, it’s entirely free to the general public.

This year’s roster will include several popular local acts, including:

  • Caviar & Grits
  • Home Brew (featuring Driftwood’s ultra-talented Clair Byrne)
  • The O’Neill Brothers
  • MetroGnome
  • Wild Card
  • Foggy Maloon
  • Front & Main
  • The Vollmers

The music fest takes place at Binghamton’s historic Recreation Park at the Rod Serling Bandstand. Oh, and consider bringing your own seating or blankets. The event will run from 1 pm to 9 pm. There will be food trucks and other vendors at the event. Please be sure to not litter, kids. Rec Park is a cool place, so let’s keep it a clean, cool place.

The Rec Park Music Festival is closing in on 30 consecutive years of jamming

Jim Reyen of legendary Binghamton jam band the Rhythm Gypsys has organized the event since 1996. With the event’s 30th anniversary approaching, we have to wonder if another Rhythm Gypsys reunion might happen. One can only hope!

This will be the fifth year that the event honors the memory of Harper M. Stantz, a local music lover who was tragically struck down by an intoxicated motorist in March of 2019. Event organizers say they plan to continue remembering and celebrating the life of Harper Stantz “for years to come.”

Get down to Rec Park on July 9th and enjoy some amazing live bands free of charge!
